“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.”

My Story

I was born and raised in California’s Central Valley and now call New York City home, where I work as a psychotherapist, mental health educator, and activist.

As a first-generation college graduate and proud Latina, I know what it’s like to navigate spaces where you don’t always feel seen or understood. Growing up as the eldest daughter in a working-class Mexican-American family has shaped so much of how I show up in the world, and it’s also what called me to this heart-centered work.

I approach therapy from a holistic, decolonized framework—one that recognizes that true healing cannot happen in isolation, but unfolds in relationship with ourselves, with others, and within the communities where we truly belong.

By moving away from traditional Western & Eastern European Values, I will invite you to compassionately explore your personal history, deepen your self-understanding, and discover the strength to transform your future through reclaiming your ancestral wisdom, resilience, and joy.

Coming Home to Yourself

My sincerest hope is to support people in finding peace in their bodies, clarity in their identities, and deep connection in their relationships. In our work together, we will explore both your past and present to deepen your understanding of who you are today—your challenges, as well as the unique ways you love, create, and dream.

Decolonizing the Healing Process

Inspired by foundational frameworks like Renee Linklater’s Decolonizing Trauma Work, I believe that psychological distress is rarely just an individual issue. Often, the anxiety, depression, or relational struggles we carry are somatic echoes of systemic conditioning and historical "soul wounds."

Instead of viewing your struggles through a rigid, pathologizing lens, we will look at the whole picture. We honor your intersecting identities and recognize that your symptoms are often brilliant survival strategies developed to protect you in an unjust world.

The Framework

Because our collective stories, resilience, and survival strategies live directly within the nervous system, our sessions will invite you to slow down. My practice is deeply rooted in the Hakomi Method—a gentle form of somatic psychotherapy that utilizes mindful, assisted self-discovery to explore how you organize your experience of the world.

Together, we will:

  • Tune into the body: Gently notice your “felt experience” in the present moment by tracking emotions, subtle gestures, posture, and bodily sensations to hear what your subconscious is expressing.

  • Befriend your defenses: Meet your protective patterns with deep appreciation rather than trying to fight or eliminate them, recognizing them as brilliant adaptations designed to keep you safe.

  • Uncover core beliefs: In the safety of mindful awareness, gently uncover the deeply held, unconscious beliefs that shape how you view yourself and the world, opening the door to updating them.

  • Repattern the nervous system:Provide your body with the nourishment, safety, or validation it may have lacked in the past, allowing you to experience new ways of being held and seen.

  • Reclaim your expansiveness: Move past clinical labels to safely look within, reclaim ancestral wisdom and wellness, and step into new, liberated ways of being.
